Born in 2000, pianist Vincent Meissner is considered one of the most promising young talents on the German jazz scene. Growing up in a village in central Saxony, he discovered his instrument at an early age and discovered jazz as his passion, which was to become his life's ambition.
At the age of sixteen, he moved to Dresden to attend the Staatliches Gymnasium für Musik, where he continued to fan the flames of his passion with constant discoveries. His influences ranged from Oscar Peterson, Dave Brubeck and Andrew Hill to Craig Taborn, Vijay Iyer and Kris Davis, as well as German jazz pianists such as Pablo Held, Achim Kaufmann, Joachim Kühn and Michael Wollny.
He has already received numerous awards in his young career. In 2018, he won first place at "Jugend Jazzt Solo" and first prize at the "Bechstein Piano Competition" in Berlin. Followed by first place at the "International Jazzhaus Piano Competition" 2020 and first place at the "Langnau Jazz Piano Competition" 2022.
We are looking forward to a concert in which Vincent Meissner will play his own compositions in the Parksalon and incorporate refreshingly unsentimental Christmas echoes.
