In the organizer's words:
Nationally renowned painters such as Hans Thoma, Oswald Achenbach and Wilhelm Leibl are represented in the Mainz Picture Gallery, as are artists from the region, such as Johann Adolf Lasinsky, Philipp Janz and Heinrich Jakob Fried. Numerous paintings come from the estates of Mainz citizens who later donated their collections to the municipal gallery in their home city.
A special feature is the Wilhelminian-style furniture ensemble from the Mainz-based company Anton Bembé, which produced such famous furnishings for princely palaces such as Neuschwanstein Castle with a worldwide customer base.
