Who is Franz K.? Is he the gatekeeper of modern literature, who writes as if in a night fever and who feverishly writes? Is he the melancholic melon bearer, the sad diarist, the hypersensitive hypochondriac? Is he the storyteller of small animals and large buildings and inscrutable worlds, the obsessive letter-writer, the frivolous womanizer? No, perhaps, yes... . In any case, the characters in Dr. Kafka's book are a grey panopticon of the most peculiar figures with the strangest vocations and most unthinkable professions that the fragmentary, above all posthumous work of a narrator has to offer the reader. Between transformation, interrogation and trial, he allows his protagonists to despair and hope in the mysteriousness of reality. Hope with Franz K. and us in a staged reading in honor and commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Kafka's death.
