Reading: Voosen & Danielsson - Deaths that we die

A teenager is shot dead during a drive-by shooting in the hotspot district of Hermodsdal. Police leaders and the press quickly make up their minds: another tragic low point in the nationwide escalating drug gang wars. The thankless case is delegated to the newly widowed detective Jon Nordh and the transferred North Swedish investigator Svea Karhuu. The two quickly find themselves caught between the fronts of the brutal turf wars for quick money, power, honor - and retribution. When the dead boy's best friend goes into hiding, it looks like a betrayal. But after another murder, events come thick and fast and the unlikely pair of investigators have to grow into a real team in a very short space of time. Nordh and Karhuu not only have to fight against a relentless opponent, but also with the burden of their own past.

Roman Voosen, born in Rheinhausen in 1973, grew up in Papenburg in Emsland. He studied art history and German language and literature in Bremen. He has worked as a paramedic, spare parts sorter, geriatric nurse, bartender, music journalist and teacher. He lives and works as an author in Berg, Sweden.

Kerstin Signe Danielsson, born in 1983 in Växjö, spent her childhood in the deep Småland forest. At 19, she moved to Hamburg to study history and German literature. After moving back and forth between Hamburg, Gothenburg and Växjö countless times, she now lives in Berg/Sweden. She works as an author and teacher.

Roman Voosen and Kerstin Signe Danielsson have been married since 2013.
