Vortrag: Aktuelle Entwicklungen im Verpackungsrecycling

In the organizer's words:

Lecture in cooperation with Zero Waste Köln e.V. and VHS Köln

The event is aimed at anyone who is professionally or privately involved in sustainable consumption and business.

Everyone who lives produces waste - this is unavoidable, especially in a big city like Cologne. The types of waste we produce and the ways in which we can dispose of it are many and varied.

Over 30 years ago, the introduction of the dual system and the "yellow garbage can" turned waste into a recyclable material. Today, modern sorting plants are technically equipped for an environmentally and climate-friendly circular economy. Nevertheless, developments andchallenges are makingthe recycling of packaging more difficult. Malte Montag talks about where the problems lie and how packaging can be recycled.

Zero Waste Cologne started as a citizens' initiative in 2018 and has been a registered non-profit association since June 2019. As an association, we are committed to spreadingthe idea of zero waste at all levels ofsociety - politics, education, citizens, companies and restaurants - and to networking the players. We invite all interested parties to this lecture and to join us in making Cologne more sustainable.

Malte Montag studied technical environmental protection and dealt intensively with waste management and development cooperation. He has been involved with recyclable materials and recycling for 15 years and works in the environmental administration in the waste sector. As a member of Zero Waste Cologne, he also actively supports the association time and again with his knowledge, here in the form of a public lecture.
