The lecture deals with fundamental analytical questions on the institutionalization of photography and examines the interactions between media characteristics and institutions with photographic collections. The focus is on the new challenges that digital technologies pose for photographic institutions and how the media, historical and social dynamics between photography and institutions can be re-evaluated and understood in the age of digitality.
