Lecture by Dr. Hartmut Bickelmann

Dr. Hartmut Bickelmann presents the close ties between Hermann Allmers from Rechtenfleth and the port city of Bremerhaven. Bremerhaven was a cultural and economic point of reference for the people of the surrounding marshes. He was associated with a sense of home and regional identity, as well as the close links between agricultural production and the commercial and industrial activities of the port city. The lecture will focus on the founding of the "Männer vom Morgenstern" local history association and the "Marschenbuch" written by Allmers.
