Seven people look back on their voluntary service abroad. For three of them, it was their first trip outside the African continent. Four young volunteers from Germany decided to work on projects in Peru, Ghana and Gambia. In the film, the former volunteers are confronted with images and statements from this period of their lives several years after their stay. How do they look back on this trip and their experiences today? Have they become more open-minded? And above all, how did their voluntary service affect their lives afterwards?
