llyria: A non-place, an exile without war and without work, an immersive adventure. Viola appears, and thus begins the game of love, intoxication and identity. She falls in love with Orsino. But he only has eyes for Olivia, who in turn takes a liking to Viola. Even more confusion and intrigue is caused by Olivia's relatives and drinking companions and a love-struck steward named Malvolio. And the jester wanders amusingly between the worlds and always seems to know a little more than the other characters ... Director Charlotte Sprenger returns to Schauspiel Köln, where she realized her first works. She translates Shakespeare's comedy WAS IHR WOLLT into a sensual metaverse. In her production, Illyria becomes a computer game, a place full of emotions, ecstasy and possibilities. Stories provide comfort, create fantasy worlds of freedom and dreams - but can our escapism also become dangerous? What if the fictional exile seems more worth living in than the real world?
