Shipwrecked Viola is stranded on the coast of Illyria and disguises herself as a man for protection. As Cesario, she enters the service of Duke Orsino and delivers his vows of love to Countess Olivia. However, the countess immediately falls in love with Viola*Cesario, whose heart beats for Orsino. And when Viola's twin brother Sebastian, who was thought to be missing, turns up, the (love) confusion is perfect.
Who am I and why? In WASIHRWOLLT , nothing is as it seems and no one is what he or she pretends to be. Shakespeare's comedy of mistaken identity breaks down gender attributions with art and relish and poses questions about (gender) identity, sexuality and the meaning of life.
