In the organizer's words:

Clytemnestra, Queen of Mycenae, is forced to watch as her husband Agamemnon sacrifices their daughter Iphigenia. He trades her blood for a favorable airstream so that the Greek fleet can set sail for Troy. The war against Troy is intended to restore the male honor of his brother Menelaus. Clytemnestra returns to Mycenae without a daughter and assumes power. She is joined by the hetaera Phryne, a woman whom Agamemnon had 'captured' during a previous campaign. Both are united by the unconditional urge to live a self-determined life, never to be victimized again. Clytemnestra's remaining daughter Electra is also to escape this fate. But she shows solidarity with her father.

In her rewriting of antiquity, author Tine Rahel Völcker uses abysmal humor to tell the story of a family in which violence is answered with violence across generations, as if compelled by repetition. She questions the patriarchal power and authority of interpretation and searches for an unconventional perspective on the often-told myth. Is a new beginning possible after the horror? And if so, how?
