Multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Wendy McNeill originally hails from Edmonton in the Canadian province of Alberta and is a gifted musical storyteller. With a soft spot for outsiders, animals, nature and myths, she weaves profound stories that are the focus of her folk-noir songs. She accompanies her multi-layered vocals with accordion, guitar, kalimba, synthesizer and a variety of other sounds that make 'pling and plong' everywhere.
McNeill, who now lives in Valencia, has recorded nine studio albums; her latest project is called 'First there were feathers' (release: spring 2023) and is an artistic approach to the world of birds and the question of how their fate is linked to our own.
Whether solo or with a large symphony orchestra, she is as authentic as she is entertaining on stage as she takes her audience on an imaginative rollercoaster ride through contrasting emotional worlds with her captivating stories.
