The financial achievements to strengthen culture are at stake due to the current budget cuts, and inflation and exploding material prices are also tearing visible holes in the tightly knit financial plans of young artists' productions, which artists can usually only patch up with self-exploitation and voluntary work.
Another cause for concern is the impending collapse of venues and initiatives that have been available for decades as platforms for the promotion of emerging artists. What value does the art of up-and-coming cultural practitioners have for a city and a region? Do lower fee limits also apply to up-and-coming artists? Who has what definition of young talent and why, and who is actually (not) reached by it?
Together with local and Saxon partners and up-and-coming artists, we would like to discuss questions about sustainable work with young talent and problems of meeting demand in order to focus on the positions and needs of the performing arts in Saxony and think utopian.
