Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? by Edward Albee

Martha and George, George and Martha. The two main characters from Edward Albee's probably best-known play "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" live out on stage what today would probably be described as a toxic relationship. On a late summer night in the early 1960s, the couple engage in an exchange of blows that ranges from subtle sabotage to brutal emotional wounding - all before the disbelieving eyes of their guests, the young couple Nick and Honey. Life lies, disappointed expectations and deep-seated insecurities, Martha and George bring them all out and serve them up to each other with such eloquence that the audience is left laughing and bowing in admiration at the same time.
