Widersprechen und Widerspruch aushalten – wie bleiben wir im Gespräch?

An interactive event format on the evening at the Munich Adult Education Center deals with the question of how we can stay in conversation even on controversial topics.

There are topics where it seems increasingly difficult to reach an understanding with those who disagree. Either a heated argument breaks out or the discussion is avoided altogether. Yet a democratic society thrives on an appropriate exchange of conflicting positions.

Where are we called upon to disagree? Where do we have to endure opposition to our own opinions? How can talking to each other succeed in practice? Eva Feldmann-Wojtachnia from the Center for Applied Policy Research (C-A-P) and psychotherapist Eva-Maria Kerp will give two short inputs on how to communicate boundaries constructively and on psychological hurdles that can get in the way of conversations. Afterwards, the participants will discuss in small table groups.

There are no easy answers to many contemporary questions. In the "Still Questions!" series, experts provide brief impulses that are then discussed at themed tables.
