Wilde Bühne: Bluten

In the organizer's words:

It works for us - from menarche to menopause [12 plus]

"I have - painters in the cellar."
"Do you have a - plug for me?"
"She just had her - Aunt Rosa over."

Around 800 million people worldwide do it: they menstruate. But for the fact that it affects half of humanity, there is an astonishing amount of ignorance, shame and taboo surrounding this topic. Why do we always use these embarrassing codes? What are periods for anyway? What does it feel like? What superpowers lie dormant in the menstrual cycle, and where is there a lack of understanding and solidarity?
The cross-generational WILDE BÜHNE ensemble of Leipzig residents and TDJW ensemble members puts an end to taboos and prejudices and rolls out the red carpet for the period. Some of them bleed, some (just) don't, some don't anymore. Joint research and writing workshops with in-house author Christina Piljavec have resulted in a production that moves between enlightenment and the fun of breaking taboos. It is based on the setting of a large factory that goes through the phases of the menstrual cycle. And here too - no cycle without rhythm! Using live drums, songs and choreography, the ensemble finds the groove and tries to keep all the hormones in time until the big cramp.
