Windtelefon: Trauerdruck-Werkstatt

In the organizer's words:

Funeral printing traditionally refers to the announcements, mourning cards and thank-you notes following a death. These classic, often black and white cards are still an important part of the grieving process today. In our upcoming series of workshops with artist Susanne Stein, we would like to take a slightly different approach to mourning prints: Whether motifs of remembrance or an expression of one's own emotional world - together with Susanne, we will try to capture the complex feelings of grief in motifs that can be carved into linoleum plates and then printed. Together with the participants, the individual motifs will be used to create flags that will be hung in Kassel's main cemetery in December. In this way, we want to bring this important topic into the public sphere. By hanging up the flags together, we can metaphorically hand over our own feelings to the wind. Of course, art prints can also be made to take home. We are looking forward to this extraordinary workshop with Susanne and are already very excited about your results.

There are three Wednesday dates to choose from for the workshop: October 2, November 6 and December 4, each from 5:30 to 9 pm in the Kaminzimmer of the Kulturzentrum Schlachthof (Mombachstr. 12, 34127 Kassel). The offer is free of charge, no previous knowledge is necessary. Registration with Daniel and Gerrit at hallo@hier-im-quartier.de.
