WOMEN IN JAZZ - KASIA PIETRZKO Trio

After 13 years of classical piano training in her hometown of Bielsko-Biala, Kasia Pietrzko's path as a concert pianist was actually already mapped out. But when she discovered jazz, everything changed. She studied jazz at the Academy of Music in Krakow and attended workshops with Ed Cherry and Kenny Garrett, among others, before recording her trio album FORTHRIGHT STORIES in 2017, which attracted international attention. Her style is strongly inspired by classical composers such as Claude Debussy and Sergei Prokofiev. Another trio album, FRAGILE EGO, followed in 2023. This album is very much about herself, her life as an artist, her musical style and her compositions. The album was released on the legendary POLISH JAZZ label (incidentally the first release by a female artist on this label!).
