"YOUTH WORSHIPPERS"

In the organizer's words:

In our exhibition "Youth Worshippers" we will be showing two new photographic work cycles by Björn Siebert: two large blocks of images will reflect the summery, playful self-presentation and self-absorption of today's young people, while at the same time the night side with transience, death and decay in the shimmering twilight of deep waters will also have its say from the perspective of young people.

In both cases, the magic of the accidentally created image, which plays with one's own face and body and emerges from spontaneous action, plays an important role. The focus is not on the perfect body, the coherence and conciseness of expression in an open life situation: the unintentional play with oneself, with youthful age, with innocence, immaturity, the desire to try out the body's own ability to move and express itself, which does not seem to be addressed to a fixed counterpart, but at best to the sun, the wind, the summer outdoors.
