Zeise Singer Slam

In the organizer's words:

On the first Friday of the month, delicate sounds and hard guitar solos waft through the streets of Altona. With luck, they come from the Zeise cinemas in Ottensen, where the singer-songwriter elite meet to outdo each other. Seasoned singer-songwriters compete in the Battle of the Arts Singer Slam to prove how one voice and one instrument can make an entire hall and a five-member (randomly selected) jury cry, scream, shake or laugh. And sometimes all at the same time. Anything goes - as long as the musicians are convincing with themselves and their instrument. Those who manage to do this are allowed to give their all once again in the final and so at the end of the evening, not only is there a monthly winner, but they can also look forward to taking part in the Kampf der Künste Singer Slam final at the Ernst Deutsch Theater.
Conclusion: at this slam, top-class singer-songwriters show off their most beautiful strings, prove their sense of touch and leave behind the feeling that a sophisticated music event will ultimately grow out of a clash, a medley of ideas and music that may soon be heard on canals across the republic: Gisbert zu Knyphausen, Antje Schomaker, Marc-Uwe Kling and the members of the Mighty Oaks, for example, once played here before moving on to bigger venues.
