YOUR BROTHERS: They were like brothers - and then they went at each other with knives. In keeping with the current discussion about attacks with knives, Helene Hegemann tells the story of a group of young people in the Berlin district of Rudow, where unemployment and the proportion of people from immigrant families are high. But does that tell the whole story? Not really, as becomes clear in courtroom scenes and flashbacks that take a multi-layered look at people who all too often serve only as clichés.

LOVE BY PROXY: Earlie, the daughter of a murdered mine owner, is kidnapped in Africa, her German lover Ralf tries everything to save her - and soon loses his bearings completely. This makes him an easy target for scammers. LOVE BY PROXY is about taking money out of the pockets of Westerners with promises made online. The question always resonates as to whether defrauding white people is a form of compensatory justice in view of the historical exploitation through slavery and colonial rule.
