What does Fʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛmean in times of crisis? How can wedefend theFʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛgains ofrecent decades against authoritarian tendencies that can be observed not only in Germany? How can we protect our liberal democratic institutions from their enemies? How do we view the measures necessary to combat the climate crisis? Dothey mean restricting our freedom? Or is mitigating the climate crisis not rather the prerequisite for Fʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛ - both for our and future generations? How can we ensure that everyone comes along? How can we combine fʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛ and solidarity?
Should we be more proactive in promoting an ecological and solidarity-based concept of F ʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛ? Do we even need a new Fʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛs movement?
At our Fʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛsummit,we are looking for a Fʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛsbegriff that unites Fʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛder individuals and society now and in the future. Together with people from politics, science and civil society and our guests, we will discuss the future of freedom and the freedom of the future .We will also present the award-winning poetry videos from our Fʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛs competitionfor poetry slammers.
We will be streaming live from 11.00 to 12.50 and from 15.30 to 18.00

Parallel forums "Futures of Fʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛ"
The freedom not to be restricted by prohibitions such as a speed limit is easy to understand. In contrast, it is abstract and unclear how and why the climate crisis restricts our actions. In this workshop, we want to develop narratives that make our concept of Fʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛtangible and communicable.
In this workshop, Philipp Lepenies will use his book Verbot und Verzicht (Prohibition and Renunciation) to show how the current promise of neoliberalism systematically undermines state action in the sense of a transformation towards a sustainable society. We will discuss why policies of behavioral control are urgently needed in many areas of action in order to restore sustainability and do justice to the claim of a democracy. Dr. Josephine Tröger will present psychological findings that show that steering policies are necessary to close the gap between intention and behavior and that, under certain circumstances, there would also be acceptance for them.
Why do we find it so difficult to bring together sustainability and finance in business? In this workshop, we want to discuss what Fʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛ actually means in business and what it can mean in the future. The Heinrich Böll Federal Foundation's new economic atlas, which presents the problems and solutions of the transformation, will help with orientation.

Outlook: The Fʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛ of the future - livestream
In times of polycrisis, the question of the futurearises anew. Radical forces are using social insecurity to attack the gains made inrecent decades and the institutions of democracy as a whole. How can we counter this authoritarian rollback? How can we reconcile individual Fʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛ and social responsibility with Fʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛ today and in the future? Do we need to defend our Fʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛ more strongly? Do we need a new Fʀᴇɪʜᴇɪᴛs movement?
