The social background of authors and creative artists in German-speaking countries is rarely working class. There are various reasons for this, including systemic ones. Those who nevertheless gain visibility in the literary field often do important educational work: authors with a personal connection to the working class describe experiences of discrimination and raise awareness of classist structures in society.

This is precisely where the series "Zwischen den Klassen Literarische Stimmen aus der Working Class" ("Between the Classes - Literary Voices from the Working Class") comes in and, on three dates at the Kunsthafen (in the Künstlerhaus Rhenania), helps those literary voices who have dedicated themselves to this problem to gain more visibility.
