Akki is called "Aktion & Kultur mit Kindern" (Action & Culture with Children) and is a non-profit association recognized as an independent youth welfare organization.

Akki is an extracurricular place of learning for cultural education. Akki's cultural activities take place on its own premises, but also on a mobile basis throughout the city. The interdisciplinary and multimedia projects make culture an experience for children and with children.

Akki specializes in the conception and realization of cultural education projects and activities. Untypical for a youth art school, Akki does not organize courses so far, but exclusively topic-centered, time-limited and interdisciplinary projects or project-like events.

Akki creates opportunities for self-education and provides multifaceted, multidimensional and complex learning spaces in which children and adolescents actively and independently deal with the contents of the project theme in a playful manner according to their own interests and motives. For this individual and highly dynamic engagement, Akki provides all available resources, spaces, times, materials and competent persons that can be helpful for the elaboration of the topic. In special workshops, equipped with materials and competent professionals from all art disciplines, children develop their own creative forms of expression.
