In the location's words:

Oldenburg's first "arthouse cinema" opened on the Pferdemarkt on December 11, 1981.

In the name of cinematic art, the "Casablanca" quickly became the first address for cineastes in the region - and has remained so to this day.

In 1984, a "small cinema" was built next to the "large cinema" in order to extend the duration of films and to be able to show special film series.

In 1996, a thorough renovation and expansion to three auditoriums took place. Finally, in December 2011, a fourth auditorium was added with the cinema lounge.

Today, we offer you a varied program of sophisticated films in four modern cinemas. Here you can see mainly - but not only - selected European arthouse films away from the mainstream.

All auditoriums are air-conditioned, offer comfortable row spacing, comfortable seats and are equipped with digital projection technology and Dolby surround sound.
