Founded in 1985, the CASAMAX Theater has consistently worked with a focus on children's and youth theater since 2003. In addition to the regular offering of a theater program in the house with many repertoire pieces for children from 3 years, teenagers and adults, to which new productions are added annually, the plays are offered as guest performances throughout Germany as well as in German-speaking countries. Theater workshops, educational pre- and post-performance discussions, interview and rehearsal classes or groups, as well as - also inclusive - theater projects with schools round out the theater's work.

The work of the CASAMAX Theater is characterized by a pictorial and sensual realization of themes suitable for children in its plays. The almost exclusive focus of the theater is on play development. At CASAMAX Theater, a play is always developed in a process through research by the artists, the inclusion of their own experiences, and the involvement of children from the target group in the development process. This gives the plays a high content-related, emotional and cultural value and always moves very close to the audience. Stories are created in which the children and adolescents feel that their wishes and needs are taken seriously and whose suitability for children is checked in advance by the target group on the basis of rehearsal visits. In the process, there is always a level on which the accompanying adults can draw their own conclusions. The consistent development of thematically complex pieces for the youngest audience of 3-6 years is also a unique selling point in Cologne.

We believe in children's very own competence to grasp life in all its facets. Our plays should encourage children and young people, let them grow and encourage them to shape the world.
