n June 1992, Agenda 21 for Environment and Development was adopted in Rio de Janeiro. It calls on local authorities worldwide to make their contribution to the sustainability of humanity with the broad participation of citizens. A local agenda was drawn up in Munich. Its long-term implementation requires a profound change in awareness among the population, which is to be promoted through appropriate infrastructure and facilities. In this context, the OneWorldHouse was opened in Schwanthalerstrasse in Munich.
Here, people from all cultures live together. The EineWeltHaus is still the only institution of its kind in Bavaria.

Openness, tolerance, diversity and understanding characterize the OneWorldHouse as a place of dialogue and solidarity for people of all nationalities.

It is a lively place where intercultural, migration and development policy issues are discussed and a variety of cultural highlights such as readings, exhibitions, concerts and film screenings are offered.
