One focus of the program is on intercultural work. There are several formats that deal with this topic: There is an intercultural jam session called Easy Sunday. There is a three-day open-air festival called inter:Komm!, where world music bands play and migrant associations from the city of Reutlingen make gastronomic and cultural contributions.

The 170 or so music events each year are organized in the form of several series: Songs & Poesija presents indie folk, indie pop and singer/songwriters, Indi(e)stinction presents experimental forms of rock away from the mainstream, noche globalista, nuite globaliste or global(east)-a world music bands that mix folk elements from the Spanish and French-speaking regions and from Eastern Europe with rock, ska, reggae, punk and hip hop. francofolies presents bands from France that bring chansons to the stage in a new guise, The other Side of Nashville presents bands that mix country, bluegrass and Americana and the noche latina series presents bands from Latin America that play a mix of folk, jazz and pop styles. Jazz concerts are usually held in cooperation with the Reutlinger Jazzclub in der Mitte and therefore do not have a fixed series name.

In addition to the music series, the franz. K also hosts the Kleinkunstherbst (Cabaret Autumn), in which cabaret artists, cabaret artists, comedians, singer-songwriters, humorists and comedians of various renown perform.

Furthermore, the franz. K also helps to develop the regional scene. There are therefore fixed program series/concert slots for local bands and musicians, such as the Indie stays Echaz format [Echaz is the name of the river that flows past the franz.K] - rock bands from the region share the franz.K stage, there was regio.music.spot - a young talent competition in collaboration with the Neckar-Alb Popbüro, which was launched in the early 2000s together with the Reutlingen Office for Schools, Youth and Sport in the former Cafe Nepomuk, the Rhythm & Groove - the annual band festival with student bands from the Reutlingen music school, Represent - United Bands of Reutlingen, a 2-day band festival with exclusively local bands, Poesie & Pommes SongSlams, Poesie & Pommes Poetry Slams (with the participation of rappers), Easy Sunday, the monthly intercultural jam session with Reutlingen musicians from all over the world.

The franz. K also has its own artistic productions. In addition to touring indoor festivals such as the Akkordeonale (accordion world music festival) and the Bluegrass Jamboree (bluegrass and Americana festival), it has also developed its own indoor formats, such as the Sturm & Klang Festival, which was primarily aimed at schoolchildren. The festival consisted of workshops on political topics and bands in the evening. The Songs & Poesija festival, which aims to showcase the diversity of artists, all of whom are singer/songwriters. The cultural center is also a cooperation partner of the Reutlinger Jazzfrühling jazz festival and the venue for the major concerts of the Jazzfrühling. It also cooperated with the Burning Eagle Festival, which originated at franz.K, grew over 6 years and became independent in 2013. It presented unusual singer/songwriters and indie bands and was praised throughout the music and regional press for its ambitious program and ambience. In the run-up to the festival, the cultural center usually presented 3 warm-up concerts with pop/rock bands.
In addition, the franz. K is also a partner and performance venue for the evening events of the Kultur vom Rande festival, which showcases integrative culture throughout the city for a week, i.e. artistic productions by and with people with disabilities. The festival is unique in its form in Germany.
The combined Indie(e)stinction Festival has existed since 2016. The play on words Indi(e)stinction refers to bands that are "indie", i.e. independent of the major labels and equally independent of mass taste, and yet cannot be easily differentiated or categorized, i.e. are "indistinctive".

With the Kollektiv:Tanzbar party, a series of events with electronic dance music by local DJs was launched in 2016 in cooperation with the four organizer collectives Bollwerk, Bunte Klänge, Emma.Ton and Lichterberg. The party franz tanz!t, the party for all those who have already wasted their youth, plays alternative/indie music. There is also the Africa Night party with African beats, reggae, Latin and hip hop.
