Gay bars and organizations for the promotion of sexual equality have existed in this area since the 1960s. Life for the LGBTQ* community in Munich also takes place in the lively Glockenbach and Gärtnerplatz districts, where trendy bars, clubs and stores can be found, especially along Müllerstrasse.

Members of the Rainbow community have found a home here where they can feel free and accepted. It is no longer a big deal to live confidently and openly as a queer person.
