For over 40 years, the Goldbekhaus has been a place for communication and encounters, for culture, creativity and movement, and is probably the best-known district cultural center in Hamburg beyond the borders of its own district. Countless artists have been guests on its stages, generations of Winterhude residents have moved and been moved here, tried things out and been inspired. Many initiatives have originated here and have shaped life in the district and have even been noticed beyond its borders.

The Goldbekhaus is a water-washed house. It offers a variety that only a district cultural center can afford and is a lively place with theater, comedy and concerts, children's programs, flea markets, parties, projects, workshops and courses.
