Julius-Mosen-Platz is located at the western end of Oldenburg's city center and is a good starting point for shopping trips. There are several stores and restaurants on the square and Kurwickstraße and Haarenstraße are directly adjacent and invite you to take a stroll. The weekly organic market also takes place on Julius-Mosen-Platz on Wednesdays.

The square is named after the poet and playwright Julius Mosen (1803-1867), who worked at the Oldenburg Court Theater. His monument adorns Julius-Mosen-Platz today.
