In March 2024, the Cologne City Museum will reopen in the former Franz Sauer fashion house at Minoritenstraße 13. The building will not only change its address, but also the entire museum concept. You can expect an innovative - surprising (!) - new permanent exhibition that tells the history of the city of Cologne in a completely new way, with all its facets, contradictions and different perspectives. And the city's present and future are also in focus!

The new exhibition is all about - emotions, feelings and moods that everyone can relate to! The exhibition poses questions about the city's past and present such as "What do we love?", "What scares us?" and "What connects us?". For example, what did people love in the Middle Ages, what 150 years ago, what 50 years ago? What frightened the people of Cologne around 1600, what around 1900, what today? This emotional perspective puts events in the city's history into perspective in a completely new way. The exhibition also surprises with unusual themes: The question "What do we believe in?", for example, is not just about religion and ideology, but also about money and soccer.

The museum also sets standards with its many digital offerings and interactive hands-on stations as well as the high level of inclusivity
