Here you will find international trends and Düsseldorf positions, new talents and big names, all finding their place under the direction of Dr. Gregor Jansen. The Kunsthalle Düsseldorf is a place for the whole variety of international contemporary art, without its own collection, but with temporary exhibitions.

Since 1989, the exhibitions of the winners of the Karl Schmidt-Rottluff Scholarship have had a tradition here, as have the cooperations with the regional art academies. Since 2011, the diverse and highly complex art scenes of Asia have formed a new focus, closely linked to the Düsseldorf location. In the concrete cube on Grabbeplatz, you'll find not only the three exhibition rooms but also the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen.

Don't forget to stop by the Kunsthalle's parking garage, too! Since 2014, young female artists have been presented there in the MUR BURT series. In addition, formats such as IM FOYER and NACHTFOYER open up further thematic fields and discourse spaces, especially to strengthen the presence of young contemporary positions.
