LOCH is a space for art, culture and community that sees itself as an identity-creating hub and aims to make a significant impact on Wuppertal's cultural scene. The LOCH acts as a platform for interdisciplinary and experimental approaches that integrate all the arts.

We see our entire cultural program as an instrument for cultural and social participation. Our aim is to bring the potential of art, culture, education and community into a lively dialog. We create space for exchange and impulses that enrich not only the local scene, but also the development of urban society. LOCH is an open place that invites all stakeholders to participate, network and explore new paths together.

LOCH offers a wide range of creative events and programs that build bridges between high culture and subculture. Generations and different milieus come together here to experience and create art and culture together. Participation is strongly encouraged. It is a laboratory for different art forms and a center for encounters, far away from commerce. The LOCH offers space for experimental art and cultural forms as well as innovative social projects.

What once began with the first "Sommerloch" has been firmly established as an institution in the former Bücherschiff, Wuppertal Elberfeld's children's and youth library, since 2017. With the LOCH, a socio-cultural center has formed in Wuppertal that attracts attention far beyond the region.
