The former Rhine port has undergone a major transformation: where silos and warehouses once dominated the skyline of the port area, there are now building complexes designed by nationally and internationally renowned architects. The media port is home to numerous companies, primarily from the media and communications, fashion and architecture sectors, as well as art and culture. The port owes its special charm to the mixture of "new and old": the old quay walls, stairways and the tracks of the old loading road have been preserved and are now listed buildings.
