The Natural History Museum Mainz is considered the most important natural history museum in Rhineland-Palatinate and offers a fascinating insight into the diverse natural areas of the federal state. In the exhibition, visitors can travel back in time to the "wild worlds" of the ancient Rhine and discover the flora and fauna of times long past. From the imposing Deinotherium giganteum, which can be seen in the foyer of the museum, to the impressive woolly rhinoceros, the permanent exhibition includes numerous prehistoric creatures.
