With the residency in the former Bauwollspinnerei, Schauspiel Leipzig is closing a significant gap between the working methods and aesthetics of the independent scene, international festivals and the municipal theater business. Artists from Germany and Europe work on their projects in the residency during production stays lasting several weeks. For the performance blocks, the residency is transformed into a theater that shows brand new performance art.
