The Reutlingen Observatory has a long and successful tradition. It was founded in 1956 and extensively expanded in 2010. The average number of visitors per year is in the four-digit range. The observatory is part of the Verein für Volksbildung e.V. It is located above the rooftops of Reutlingen and is still easy to reach at the Ferdinand-von-Steinbeis School. There are currently 14 volunteers working at the observatory.
