In summer, the large quarry pond between the Dormagen districts of Straberg and Nievenheim becomes a popular meeting place for those seeking relaxation. The meadows by the lake are always well frequented in good weather. The gently sloping shore area with a sandy beach and a children's playground make the lake ideal for families. There is also a separate area for non-swimmers.
