The Bundesverband Theaterpädagogik (BuT) is committed to the promotion and further development of theater pedagogy in Germany. Theater pedagogy awakens and promotes the joy of theatrical play and develops the expressive possibilities of children, young people and adults. It gives participants access to contemporary theater art, promotes democratic processes and strengthens social cohesion.

The BuT is actively involved in various professional and cultural policy bodies, such as the German Cultural Council, the Paritätische Bildungswerk and the Standing Conference "Kinder spielen Theater", in order to represent the interests of theater education at a political level.

The BuT initiates and organizes numerous projects and events that further strengthen theater education and make it accessible to a broad public.
