Why is cultural education important?

The term "culture" is very broadly defined at Musenkuss. It is about interactive and creative participation. This includes, for example, media education workshops, open-ended play education, creative environmental education and interactive forms of contemporary and urban history.

As cultural education does not provide for an assessable result, there is no right or wrong. Participants can immerse themselves in creative activities and sing, dance, photograph, write texts, make pottery, draw and much more, without being exposed to the omnipresent pressure to succeed from work and school or the perfectionism that prevails in everyday life.

Educating oneself culturally and testing oneself creatively is an essential part of personal development. Cultural participation should therefore be made possible for all sections of the population. This requirement applies regardless of social, cultural and financial background and regardless of disabilities.

All providers on Musenkuss Munich are quality-checked. An independent advisory board from the independent scene, visual arts, environmental education, media education, children's, youth and adult education, cultural networks, welfare organizations and administration decides on admission.

Who is behind Musenkuss München?

Musenkuss München has been run by the Coordination Office for Cultural Education of the City of Munich since 2014. It is part of the Department of Culture and is responsible for the three municipal departments of Social Affairs, Education and Sport and Culture.
