is an association of theater makers under the artistic direction of director Christof Seeger-Zurmühlen and actress Julia Dillmann, based in Düsseldorf.
The concepts of the Pièrre.Vers theater collective are based on the idea of encouraging people to engage in dialogue through consistent artistic work, thereby critically contributing to the progress of democracy. In the multi-phase art, research and mediation project 'Hidden HiStories' , it is currently dealing with increasing nationalism in politics and society, the influences and effects of right-wing violence and current forms of group-related misanthropy in the recent history of the Federal Republic of Germany.
For this, the theater collective Pièrre.Vers receives the three-year top theater funding of the state of NRW (2022 - 2025), as well as the three-year concept funding of the city of Düsseldorf (2021-2024).
Since 2012, the theater collective Pièrre.Vers (THK PV) has been developing performative-immersive formats in public and semi-public spaces. At historically charged locations, socially relevant topics are examined using the example of the microcosm of the CITY, involving the people living and working in Düsseldorf. Alliances, exchange and collaboration with experts and partner organizations play a decisive role in the development of the plays, which can be described as documentary theater pieces.
The theater collective Pièrre.Vers, in which the author Juliane and the director Christof Seeger-Zurmühlen have been working together successfully for over seven years, has specialized in developing theater evenings from extensive city-specific research and interviews that deal with the topics of coming to terms with history, National Socialism and its patterns, right-wing radicalism and the impact on an urban society. The resulting productions are a plea for the constant renewal of remembrance work as well as an artistic contribution to coming to terms with history, which can serve to form a critical spirit in the present. Always against the background that art should reflect the present. The works are or were developed in close dialog with historians from the memorial site, the "Alter Schlachthof" memorial site at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, representatives of the Jewish community, the Society for Christian-Jewish Cooperation, contemporary witnesses, city residents and other partners. Based on research, interviews and facts from historical research, sociology and ethnology, a network of connections between individual places, people and their biographies as well as the city's history is created.
Special attention is paid to the interaction between the people of a city and the theater. The choice of themes is tailored to this and politically relevant. Theaterkollektiv Pièrre.Vers is interested in people. It develops formats that take place in the urban space, in apartments or at theme-specific locations.
