The Karlstorbahnhof cultural center was opened in 1995. The associations kulturcafé, Freier Theaterverein Heidelberg and Eine-Welt-Zentrum operate here under one roof. Medienforum Heidelberg e.V. also runs the Karlstorkino cinema in the same building. The Karlstorbahnhof stands for a diverse cultural program with creative concepts, exciting artists and plenty of openness and curiosity.

We have long since outgrown the station building in Heidelberg's Old Town, where Karlstorbahnhof was originally founded. In October 2022, we were able to inaugurate a modern, new event venue on Marlene-Dietrich-Platz in Heidelberg's Südstadt district. A large hall, the Tik theater room, a club, a cinema, two seminar rooms and the headquarters, which is a foyer, event room and café bar all in one, offer plenty of space for creativity. This was made possible by the city of Heidelberg through the extensive conversion and new construction of a former military riding hall.
