We kickstart April with frisky grooves from the brighter and lighter spectrum of dance music: jaunty rhythms to celebrate the rites of spring! Our resident shooting star, Bashkka, delivers glittering funk and potent grooves inspired by the heritage of the NYC-Ballroom scene. Meanwhile, the Italian luminary DJ Tennis and Carlita draw on their multifaceted background of House, Techno, and especially Rock music for an engrossing and psychedelic spin on euphoric dance music. 

Our resident, Bashkka, follows a busy schedule nowadays, and it’s no surprise why. Her infectious and animated blend of House and Techno is bold, bright, and decidedly sensual, while also being well aware of dance music’s queer and BiPOC origins. She’s not afraid to use her voice and profile to advocate and educate on dance music’s cultural and political contexts. We’re glad to have her soundtrack our first dance in April! The multitalented DJ Tennis brings a wide range of influences to the dance floor, be it as the manager of the Life & Death imprint or his many culinary endeavors. His past as a manager and booker for alternative rock bands led him to the ’90s great leftfield electronica artists, and these musical experiences lend his spherical take on vast House and Techno their distinctive and colorful edge. Sharing a love and penchant for sun-drenched, blissed-out, and psyched-out grooves adjacent to House and Techno, and many more creative endeavors with DJ Tennis, is Carlita. Expect more of the uplifting, wide-ranging euphoria her productions are known for!
