EUROPEAN UNION by EDO G. x FOKIS. Album Release Show.

Das sagt der/die Veranstalter:in:

The European Union Album Release show will be going down in Heidelberg!

Ed O.G is a pioneering hip hop artist from Boston, Massachusetts. Active since the early '90s, he rose to prominence with his group Ed O.G & Da Bulldogs, known for socially conscious lyrics and smooth production.

Old-school cats know him for his classics like “I Got To Have It,” “Be A Father,” and “BugaBoo,” as Ed O.G. and Da Bulldogs. A younger generation knows him from his albums with collaborators like Pete Rock, Special Teamz, and Masta Ace. In 1991, Edo.G had the No. 1 record on Billboard charts with "I Got To Have It." This single has been used in hip-hop and R&B by multiple artists, including Mary J. Blige, Heavy D, M-Reck, and Dipset.

Over three decades later, Edo.G is still killing it. His album, FreEDOm, and documentary, I Gotta Have It, are a testament to his longevity and consistent BoomBap roots he has never strayed away from. He continues to inspire young artists while maintaining a strong fan base around the world.

Edo.G has proven he only gets better with time.

Fokis was raised on New York City’s Lower East Side of Manhattan.  It was during these formative years that he developed a love for music and a work ethic that made him stand out from the pack.  Starting out at an early age as a DJ, Fokis would eventually begin rhyming and later producing his own music. He opened his own recording studio Krystal Clear Recordings.  There, he recorded and mixed tracks that featured artists such as Big Daddy Kane, Fat Joe, Olu Dara (Nas’ father), N.O.R.E, Joe Budden, and many others.

Fokis has toured both the U.S. and abroad, playing live shows along side the likes of Common, Busta Rhymes, The Game, Onyx, Das Efx and more.  For the last few years, Fokis has been spending half of the year in Europe.  He’s collaborated with many artists & producers from Germany, Poland, France & Czech Republic.  He scored a big hit with his single, Game Time which features legendary German emcee Lakmann, from his Universal Dialect album with German emcee/producer Retrogott.

About the Album

European Union is the long-awaited collaboration album between Boston legend Edo. G and NYC producer/emcee Fokis—a unique project crafted entirely by European producers.

For the past 4 years, this album has only existed on stage. Edo. G and Fokis have performed it live across Europe and the U.S., but it's never been available to own — until now.

With a 2026 U.S. & European tour on the horizon, the duo is finally pressing European Union to vinyl. 500 copies to be exact; 300 go on the road. But before the tour, they're doing something special for the collectors. "Vinyl, CD & Tape Collectors are like GOLD. We really love, appreciate, and value them. We wanted to do something special to thank them and show them they are appreciated." - Fokis
