Gone with the rainy season

Das sagt der/die Veranstalter:in:

Gone with the rainy season is a new work from composer Rachel C. Walker and writer Autumn Yunting Tsai for vocalizing percussionists and live electronics that explores the life of Taiwanese travel writer San Mao. As the first East Asian author to live in the Sahara desert, San Mao's migration story is an example that can be seen as a window to ourselves. Like San Mao's own works - which are often presented as intimate diary entries - this new piece consists of many movements which refer to Autumn's script, weaving excerpts from San Mao's texts into a collage-like puzzle of new stories.

This new composition is an interdisciplinary endeavor that combines literature, electronic music, contemporary composition and improvisation. It will be performed live by percussion soloist Shiau-Shiuan Hung and Rachel C. Walker (sound direction).
