How do I do what I do?

This seminar will focus on the search for a stage identity in improvisation. In theatrical improvisation, the work is about creating scenes without a pre-written script. In other words, what do you do?

The artist performing as a theatrical improviser simultaneously fulfills three roles: author, director, and performer of those scenes. It is the most complex challenge they face. In this simultaneity, it often happens that the artist is neither one thing nor the other, but rather a mere executor of ideas,

falling into a repetitive and sensationalist dynamic. There’s no identity there, just more of the same. A way of doing things that has likely already been done. We will work on directing and stage performance when improvising or staging improvised works. Tools will be provided to approach each artist’s own identity, focusing on discovering the pleasure of „how to do what is done.“

As someone once said, „Improvisation is a piano that everyone must discover how to play.“
