Nasim-e Shargh: Concert in Chahargah (Classical Persian Music)

Das sagt der/die Veranstalter:in:

Hossein Taghinejad (santur)
James Wylie (kamancheh, gheychak)
Roshanak Rafani (tombak)
Bastian Duncker (ney)

Santur, kamancheh, gheychak, tombak and ney are instruments which can be traced back to Persian antiquity and because of this, transport the listener with their unique sonic qualities as well as their stark yet intricate performance practices. Dastgah-e Chahargah, one of the less commonly performed of the twelve modal systems in classical Persian music today, invokes vitality, courage and spiritual optimism - qualities that we desperately need in today's world!
