Water Damage

[EN] Drones are a powerful force, capable of whisking our thinking mind far, far, away. Austin-based collective Water Damage yields the same power whenever they pick up their instruments. Veterans from other projects (a.o. Spray Paint, Black Eyes, Swans, more eaze, USA/Mexico and more), the band is not unfamiliar with the unshakeable power of music; still, as Water Damage, they stretch out drone’s possibilities to their limits, bowing to the principle ‘Maximal Repetition Minimal Deviation’. Once an idea takes off, they pursue it forever; as Pitchfork said, their 2024 double LP ‘In E’ doubles as a “glorious mind eraser”.

[DE] Drohnen sind eine mächtige Kraft, die unseren Verstand weit, weit weg entführen kann. Das in Austin ansässige Kollektiv Water Damage entfaltet dieselbe Kraft, sobald es zu seinen Instrumenten greift. Als Veteranen aus anderen Projekten (u. a. Spray Paint, Black Eyes, Swans, more eaze, USA/Mexico und weitere) ist der Band die unerschütterliche Kraft der Musik nicht fremd; dennoch loten sie als Water Damage die Möglichkeiten des Drone bis an ihre Grenzen aus und beugen sich dem Prinzip „Maximal Repetition Minimal Deviation“. Sobald eine Idee Gestalt annimmt, verfolgen sie sie bis ans Ende; wie Pitchfork es formulierte, fungiert ihre 2024 erschienene Doppel-LP „In E“ gleichzeitig als „glorious mind eraser“.
