Easy Easy: indie surf pop with punk energy from Cologne

In spring 2020, a couple of guys from Bergisch, Cologne and Bonn formed a band. The result is Easy Easy - and the name comes from an arm tattoo of one of the band members. The collective is rooted in the unbothered, imperfect subculture milieu: indie, played with the energy of punks, brimming with the emotional chemicals of the coming of age. Fear, love, high celebrations and cold comedowns, hate, missing, arguing - everything in between.

Indie surf pop that doesn't come from Australia, but from NRW - and it sounds surprisingly good. Easy Easy combine influences from post-punk, Britpop and indie to create a sound that is raw and unadulterated, but always peppered with likeable humor. If you like Hippo Campus, Sports Team or Fontaines D.C., you've come to the right place. And if you're still not convinced: the current single "Sonne"(Spotify) shows the band at their best.

From the first EPs to the debut album

Easy Easy have carved out their place in the German indie scene step by step. After four EPs and singles such as "M/L", "Junge Hunde" and "Gift" - all of which ended up on playlists such as New Music Friday Germany, Gegen den Strom and Indie Brandneu - the self-titled debut album was finally released in June 2025. In a way, it is an unintentional but fitting sound résumé: both German and English-language songs, analog and digital elements stylishly combined.
